The degree programme is structured in a unified manner, in order toallow students to consolidate and expand their competences and skills in thesubject fields, improving their philology, linguistic, historical-literary andartistic skills, which define their specific programme. The degree programmeaims to offer extensive knowledge and adequate tools to form professionalexperts in Italian, English and French culture, language and literature, ableto combine the sound knowledge provided by their subject field (LM-14) with newknowledge, in constant dialogue with other disciplines and with the use of newtechnologies. The programme objective is to successfully intertwine Italianliterary tradition with the European and Extra-European traditions and providetheoretical, critical and methodological competencies aimed to formprofessionals able to operate in national and international culturalenvironments.
Graduates will have the required critical thinking disposition toanalyse historical-literary events, texts and documents; will have strongwriting and oral communication skills; will be able to produce and manageprofessional oral and written text, in both traditional and digital format;will have the ability to operate individually and as part of a team indifferent cultural and business environments, within the public and privatesector.
Graduates may expand the knowledge acquired in the subject field ofthe LM-14 programme, by choosing specific curricula that focus on specificskills required by professional profiles that operate in a dynamic society, inwhich traditional roles need to be redesigned in light of new competencies andnew professional figures are being shaped. The teaching activities offered inthe different curricula aim to provide competencies related to library,artistic and documentary heritage, considered as assets of incredible civil,social and economic value, worth knowing, preserving and promoting with theadequate knowledge and competence. Thanks to specific teaching activitiesoffered by different curricula, second cycle degree graduates in ItalianStudies And European Literary Cultures will acquire adequate transversalcompetencies to operate in private and public companies in the paper-based anddigital publishing sector, an increasingly complex environment due to the adoptionof continuously evolving media and technology practices; they will also be ableto work in the Cultural Heritage and Art sector and master the processesapplied in all the different sectors of the creative industry (libraries,museums, temporary exhibitions and permanent collections, auctions, live art,cultural events); the curricula also include teaching activities designed toacquire competencies and operational skills in industrial and informationtechnology processes of culture and communication, in environments involved inthe creation and analysis of cultural phenomena.
The teaching strategy of the programme must therefore adoptdifferent solutions: lectures, seminars, internships and teaching activities inItaly and abroad, able to effectively develop specific cultural, editorial and library studies, spendable in Italian, European andextra-European multicultural contexts.
Graduates with sufficient credits in appropriate subject groups,will be able to take entrance exams to training programmes to teach, inaccordance with the applicable legislation. These curricula include activitiesdesigned to provide competencies relevant to teaching and learning processes.
Admission to the secondcycle degree programme in Italian Studies and European Literary Culturesrequires possession of a first cycle degree or a bachelor degree awarded afterthree years of study, or a foreign qualification recognised as suitable.
Additionally, itrequires possession of curricular requirements and to have passed an assessmenttest.

and of the UniversityEducational Credits indicated in the degree programme teaching regulations.
Assessment of personalcompetencies and skills
Admission to the master'sdegree programme requires candidates to pass anassessment of personal competencies that will be held according to the methodsdefined in the degree programme teaching regulations.
