Preparing the study plan

Information on how to prepare and present a study plan.

WHAT IS A STUDY PLAN?

The study plan is the complete set of courses and exams that you need to sit in order to graduate. Some  courses are compulsory, while others are elective.

WHO CAN PRESENT A STUDY PLAN?

A study plan can be presented by properly enrolled students who have paid their tuition fees and, in the case of international students, who hold a valid residence permit. Students enrolled as "fuori corso" (past envisaged duration of the degree programme) cannot submit a study plan.

WHEN CAN YOU PRESENT YOUR STUDY PLAN?

You can present and amend your study plan in two periods during the academic year. Second year students cannot change choices made in the first year.

For the academic year 2023/2024:

  • 4 September - 23 November 2023
  • 8 January - 31 May 2024
Degree Program year  of study credits
RESD 1st year See course structure diagram
RESD 2nd year See course structure diagram

Following expiry of the deadlines, the last study plan presented will be deemed valid and no further amendments may be made.

HOW TO PRESENT YOUR STUDY PLAN

Studenti Online

The study plan can be presented via Studenti Online by regularly enrolled students who, accessing the website using their University usernames and passwords need to add optional/electives subjects to their plan.

After making the desired choices, remember to click on “save” so that your study plan can be presented correctly.

It is also advisable to save a copy of your completed study plan. This copy is in fact the only way to check for formal or substantive errors that might arise after uploading your study plan.

APPROVAL OF YOUR STUDY PLAN

If you select elective subjects from among the courses offered by the degree programme, there is no need for assessment and your plan is approved automatically and input to your career file.

On the other hand, if you decide to choose exams not specifically offered by your degree programme, approval or otherwise will be decided by the Degree Programme Board.

*** For the 12 credits of elective activities, students may select one or more learning activities autonomously: from among those listed in the teaching plan or those activated at the School of Economics and Management and those in the teaching offer of Unibo.

The learning activities have to be in English, part of a master's degree course (laurea magistrale) and coherent with the objectives of the course.

Very important!

For all students:

  • it is not possible to fill in the Study Plan outside the two above mentioned periods.
  • First and second year students seeking for an internship should add the interhisp in their study plan before submitting the request on the database.

Outgoing Erasmus/Overseas (or other mobility Exchange programmes)

The Learning Agreement replaces the study plan in your period abroad and you can state your optional and elective choices on the L.A. For the optional and elective choices that you do not include in your L.A., you need to include them in the study plan within the set deadlines.

However, if you are leaving for an exchange period, it may be wise to fill in the study plan anyway as if you were in Rimini. Why? If, for example, you do not manage to sit abroad all the exams that you had planned in your L.A., having optionals / electives selected in your study plan is a safer fall back option if you want to take them in Rimini on your return. If they are not selected, you cannot take them when you come back.

Essentially, everything that is not a mandatory module needs to be duly selected, be it in the final version of the Learning Agreement or in the Study Plan, or both to be on the safe side.
