Only complete applications (having all the compulsory documents uploaded by the deadline) will be evaluated by the Admission Board. Incomplete applications will not be considered and candidates will be allowed to submit a brand-new application in the following intakes (if scheduled), that will be then assessed as long as it has been fully finalized.

Timely applications are highly recommended, especially for non-EU students, because eligible Applicants have to undergo pre-enrollment procedure at the Embassy or Consulate in charge for their Country.
Early application is also important for candidates applying for scholarships offered by University of Bologna.

Outcome

If the Admission Board deems that the applicant meets all the requirements, the application light will turn green (Positive Evaluation: Admitted) on the online system; otherwise, the application light will turn red (Negative Evaluation: Not Admitted).

The Admission Board CAN decide to ask a candidate to undergo an interview if some of the requirements are not satisfactorily met, in order to better assess the possession of the necessary competencies and skills (English language included).

The need to be submitted to the INTERVIEW will be communicated to the student with an e-mail at
his/her personal Unibo address (name.surname@studio.unibo.it) in order to arrange an
appointment with the Admission Board (Skype call available).
If the candidate does not show up at the interview when called, without documented reasons,
he/she is excluded from admission.
Candidates asked to undergo the interview can download the study materials from the Attachments Box on the right.

Once completed the interview, the application light will turn green (Admitted)  or red (Not admitted) on the online system according to the final assessment of the Board.

After the evaluation

After you have been pre-admitted you will have to prepare for enrolment.

If you hold an Italian qualification: starting from the date indicated in the general calendar (see call for applications) through the end of November, you will have to complete the enrolment procedure at the University of Bologna through the website Studenti Online.

If you are an international student you shall also immediately get in touch with the Italian Embassy or Consulate in your home country and apply to the Pre-enrolment procedure for the given academic year. The pre-enrolment procedure is available online, via the Universitaly portal, according to the information provided here.

The pre-enrollment procedure is to be carried out according to the rules, regulations and deadlines set forth on the ministerial Circular Note (see side box on the right). Pre-admission letter is not necessary anymore and therefore no letter will be provided to admitted applicants.

If you hold a foreign degree (obtained outside Italy) you must also submit the documentation necessary  for matriculation, that must be translated and legalized, where required.

Students should set aside enough time for housing, enrolment at University and residence permit application (if needed). Considering classes start at the beginning of October 2022, they are highly recommended to reach Ravenna by the first weeks of September (if possible).
