Preparing the study plan

Information on how to prepare and submit the study plan

WHAT IS A STUDY PLAN?

A study plan is a set of all the exams you have to take in order to graduate.

WHO CAN SUBMIT A STUDY PLAN?

The study plan can be submitted by students enrolled in the second year who have paid their tuition fees and, in the case of international students, who hold a valid residence permit.

WHEN TO PRESENT YOUR STUDY PLAN

Second year students can fill in your study plan in two periods during the academic year.

The open windows for the A.Y. 2023/24 are:
- First period: from October 2nd to December 29th , 2023 (soft skills from October 9th, 2023)
- Second period: from March 1st to March 31st, 2024

Following expiry of the deadlines, the last study plan presented will be deemed valid and no further amendments may be made.

E-mail Request for the Degree Programme Board approval (see details below):
- First window deadline: November 20th, 2023
- Second window deadline: March 22nd, 2024

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR STUDY PLAN

Studenti Online

The study plan can be submitted via Studenti Online by enrolled students who, accessing the website using their University usernames and passwords:
- have to add optional subjects to their plan;
- have to select the option for the preparation of the final examination;
- need to amend choices made in prior windows.

After making the desired choices, remember to click on “save” so that your study plan can be presented correctly.

It is also advisable to print a copy of your completed study plan. This copy is in fact the only way to check for formal or substantive errors that might arise after uploading your study plan.

Students ‘fuori corso’ (past envisaged completion time for the degree course) or students transferred from another programme/University,  cannot submit the plan on Studenti Online and need to use the attached  form to be delivered/sent to the Student Administration Office (after receiving the Degree Programme Board approval if needed).

FREE-CHOICE ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

Second year students must choose 9 credits from the elective academic activities available and/or all the exams activated by the School of Science and by the Degree Programmes activated within the categories LM-2 (Archeology), LM-89 (History of Art) and LM-24 (Engineering of Building Processes and Systems) defined by the Ministry of Education.

APPROVAL OF YOUR STUDY PLAN

If you select elective subjects from among those offered by the degree programme, there is no need for assessment and your plan is approved automatically and input to your career file.

On the other hand, if you want to choose exams not specifically offered by your degree programme, you will have to ask for the Degree Programme Board approval.
You can submit your request sending an email (including the code and name of the course unit you want to choose and the link to the course contents page) to the Programme Coordinator score@unibo.it within the deadline established for each window:
First window deadline: November 20th, 2023
Second window deadline: March 22nd, 2024

INTERNSHIP FOR FINAL EXAMINATION

Students can decide to perform their internship/preparation for the final examination in Italy or abroad.

Students can select the activity Internship Abroad for the Preparation of the Final Examination (among the Type “E” activities) if an activity of thesis preparation abroad is performed during an Erasmus/Overseas mobility period or as a consequence of being assigned a scholarship or grant for Thesis Abroad by Fondazione Flaminia or the Chemistry Department, or during a different kind of mobility authorized by the Degree Programme.

If the decision of performing an activity of thesis preparation abroad is reached after the periods set for study plan submission, students can nevertheless add the activity Internship Abroad for the Preparation of the Final Examination to their career by including it in their Learning Agreement (for Erasmus or Overseas mobility periods), or by sending a request to the International Programme Coordinator in case they have been awarded a scholarship or grant for Thesis Abroad.
