Admission: next steps for EU and NON Eu students

To enroll at the University of Bologna you need to follow these steps:

            

ADMITTED NON-EU students residing abroad

  • apply for the Pre-enrolment at the Italian Embassy in your home country
Before they leave, they have to:
  • apply for entry VISA for study reasons                
  • contact the Italian Embassy/Consulate offices in the country in which the diploma was awarded and get hold of the following documents:
  1. University qualification and original diploma;
  2. Declaration of Value for the qualification issued by the Italian Embassy-Consulate offices in the country in which the diploma was awarded;
  3. a certificate issued by the competent academic authority, duly validated by the Italian Embassy-Consulate offices, with details of examinations passed and the study programs;
  4. any other certificates regarding studies completed;
  5. one passport-size photo
 
ADMITTED EU students with equivalence to Italian citizens with a foreign degree: 

  • begin the enrollment procedure online on StudentiOnline and pay the first installment within the deadline
  • Before they leave, they have to contact the Italian Embassy/Consulate offices in the country in which the diploma was awarded and get hold of the following documents:
  1. University qualification (European Union citizens can self-authenticate the academic qualification); The Declaration of Value may be replaced by the Diploma Supplement, for academic qualifications issued by institutes in the European Higher Education Area (Bologna Process). EU nationals may self-certify their qualifications and the exams they have passed.(Important: if you are an EU national and have a Diploma Supplement, you can enroll without having the qualification validated and without pre-enrolling at the Embassy.)
  2. Declaration of Value for the qualification issued by the Italian Embassy-Consulate offices in the country in which the diploma was awarded;
  3. a certificate issued by the competent academic authority, duly validated by the Italian Embassy-Consulate offices, with details of examinations passed and the study programs                
  4. any other certificates regarding studies completed;
  5. one passport-size photo
