Interview with SEM students 2018/2019

Kristine Baroian (Russia)

Can you briefly describe yourself and your study experience before SEM?

After graduation from the oldest Economic University in Russia, Plekhanov University I have decided to find a Master degree in Management abroad. By the end of my studies, I already had one internship abroad at Umea University, Sweden, and two internships in International companies such as Siemens Finance and Nordea Bank in Moscow

So why did you choose the Master`s degree course in SEM in Rimini?

My choice immediately fell on the University of Bologna, as it has a very rich history and reputation among employers. Moreover, the SEM Master Programme replied to all my criteria, because it includes courses of almost every part of international company (for example, accounting, management and business data). I am sure that if you want to be the perfect manager you need to have knowledges of the majority of departments of the company.

Being a student in SEM, can you summarize your experience studying in Rimini?

I am more than satisfied with this Programme and the City of Rimini. Classes are held in an interactive way, which helps to better understand the subject. Moreover, the “student life” is full of any kind of events and the atmosphere in Rimini is so friendly and warm as you do not feel that you are not at home.

Susanna Tinti (Italy)

Can you briefly describe yourself and your study experience before SEM?

I graduated in Economics at University of Bologna. During my bachelor I had the chance to take part of the Erasmus Studio Programme. During the second year I was lucky enough to spend a semester studying at the “Panthéon Assas” in Paris and during the third year I spent a semester in Granada at “University of Granada”.

So why did you choose the Master`s degree course in SEM in Rimini ?

After my bachelor I was looking for a Master programme that could have a practical approach to economic subjects and that could offer an international environment, and SEM meets both. Lectures are taught in an interactive way that I find stimulating: seminars, team works and oral presentations. Also during the second year we have the chance to participate in Project Works with real Companies. Plus the classes are small and students come from all over the world, which is really enriching.

Being a student in SEM, can you summarize your experience studying in Rimini?

So far, I am satisfied with this Course. Classes are structured to give us the opportunity to participate and to make us develop ideas and thoughts. This is allowing me to approach the subjects in a more critical and active way, giving me a better understanding of the lectures. Also, having a class of only 30 students, enables us to have constant confrontation and open dialogue with Professors.

Can you briefly describe yourself and your study experience before SEM?

I’m 23 and I come from Pesaro, a small city close to Rimini. I graduated in Business Economics (CLEI) in September 2017 in Rimini.  After the first cycle of study, I was selected to participate in the Robert Schuman Traineeship in the European Parliament of Brussels. When, after 5 months, I came back, I started to work in an Accountant Office.

So why did you choose the Master’s degree course in SEM in Rimini?

Mainly because I was searching for an international programme and I have really appreciated the proposal of course structure. My previous experience in this Campus was satisfying so, I have never had doubt in term of choosing the place. I was also interested in dealing with an international environment. For these reasons, SEM represented  the best opportunity,

Being a student in SEM, can you summarize your experience studying in Rimini?

I am really happy and satisfied of my choice. In this course students  work in groups and study using a very different approach than the Italian one. The strong point of SEM is that students can collaborate with important companies, discovering how their studies can be applied.

I chose SEM among all options in light of 2 major reasons. First the growing trend in service sector is a huge wave you can not easily ignore. Second the rank of Unibo, numerous advantages and students services: Erasmus study and oversea, internship in local and international companies, sophisticated professors to name a few.

I love Rimini and its beautiful landscape. I am grateful of making new friends with different cultural background and living in one of the most beautiful countries around the world.
