8842 - Business Administration and Management
The Programme aims to provide students with the specialist scientific and technical knowledge required to work in a managerial role in a company, or in a freelance capacity, particularly using the competencies developed in the following areas: administrative and accounting, taxation, marketing and strategy, management control and planning, management and innovation and internationalisation, services management. The programme particularly investigates the topics of internal and external control of both public and private organisations of all sizes. The Programme aims to develop qualified professionals to work in the fields of administration and company management, or provide economic, legal and accounting consultancy services to businesses. The main career opportunities include roles of responsibility in the administration and management of businesses, particularly in the areas of marketing, innovation management and internationalisation, as well as Chartered Accountancy (after passing the State Exam to qualify for the profession), having mandatorily obtained the Second Cycle Degree. This Second-Cycle Degree Programme provides all the tools required to autonomously manage a range of business fields, from administration to accounting and finance, in top management positions in both public and private organisations. The knowledge acquired during the programme may be supplemented by curricular activities and seminars running regularly throughout the programme, and during an internship at one of the many local businesses and institutions. Particular importance is paid to the production of the dissertation, based on detailed case studies or frontier management topics which can be developed in collaboration with the association of chartered accountants or with local businesses and trade associations.
The programme aims therefore to train professionals able to create, manage and audit administration and management systems in public and private businesses.
The programme curriculum run in the English language also aims to train professionals working in services management in both industrial and services companies of all sizes working in national and international markets. Services are highly complex and dynamic economic activities, influenced by information and communication technologies, market globalisation and their widespread effect on the lives of both people and organisations.
The overall aim of this curriculum is to provide students with the knowledge and tools required to fully understand the key strategic and operational aspects of services management in national and international businesses.
