The main objective of this degree programmeis to provide second-cycle graduates with advanced scientific knowledge in thefield of high-level sporting activities.
In particular, the programme provides thefundamentals of biomechanics of movement, the main protocols used in theanalysis of movement and the technological solutions available to controltraining. It is also learned how to plan a targeted training programme acrossthe various preparation stages in different types of sports, specifying thecharacteristics of the workload based on the individual performance, age andbiological age of the subjects, and their gender and level of specialization.The programme also covers the main issues of training in specific conditionsand the long-term changes caused by training on muscles, metabolic functionsand on the cardiocirculatory and respiratory systems. Students learn torecognise some of the diseases that develop more frequently during sportactivities. They learn the specific characteristics of the main types of sportsand their biochemical implications, as well as the classification andmechanisms of doping substances. Students also acquire knowledge of theorganizational structure of technical staff and professional specializations inthe different types of sports.
These objectives are achieved via lecturesin seminar format and meetings with sector experts and successfulprofessionals, involving case studies, technical-practical demonstrations inthe field and individual practice using advanced tools for performanceanalysis; via the compilation of individual bibliographies and the preparationof original reports on the disciplines and techniques studied; via internshipswithin leading structures for the different types of sports disciplines; and lastly,via the preparation of an experimental degree thesis on a topic related to thecurriculum studied.
Admission to the Second Cycle Degree/TwoYear Master in Sciences and Techniques of Sports Activities requires thepossession of a Bachelor's Degree or Three-Year University Diploma, or anyother degree obtained abroad, recognised as suitable.
Additionally, candidates must meet the curricularrequirements and pass the assessment of personal knowledge and skills.

Admission to the Master's Degree Programme is subject tothe assessment of personal knowledge that will be held according to the methodsdefined in the degree programme teaching regulations.
