The near future is abundant of data and information available through magazines, news, internet, databases and surveys. There is a huge need of experts able to extract knowledge by this large amount of information.
The Google’s Chief Economist Hal Varian declared:
Today statisticians are fundamental and strategic for business companies, research centers, universities, pharmaceutical laboratories and many other fields. Statisticians decide what data they need to answer a certain question, they analyse real situations, predict trends with a certain degree of confidence, interpret behaviours and then report conclusions.
