Withdrawal, interruption, suspension and other changes during the internship

Withdrawal

If the student intends to withdraw from the internship after the request has been approved by the Internship Board, he/she must send an e-mail explaining the reasons from name.surname@studio.unibo.it to ingarc.tirocini.bo@unibo.it and copying (cc) both the Host Contact Person and the Academic Tutor, putting in the subject line Withdrawal from internship.

Interruption

If the student intends to interrupt the internship after the start, for unexpected reasons that do not allow to continue it normally, he/she must send an e-mail explaining the reasons from name.surname@studio.unibo.it to ingarc.tirocini.bo@unibo.it and copying (cc) both the Host Contact Person and the Academic Tutor, putting in the subject line Interruption of internship.

Unless differently determined by the Internship Board, interruption usually results in an early termination of the internship.Students interested in carrying out another internship must submit a new application to a different host structure.

Suspension

If the suspension period is known from the beginning, the student has to put this information in the “Planned activities” field of the internship programme (e.g. internship suspended from/to due to closure of the host structure due to summer break, absence of the host contact person, etc.).

Conversely, if the reason for suspension arises after the start of the internship and means that planned activities cannot be completed by the expected end date, the student must send an e-mail explaining the reasons from name.surname@studio.unibo.it to ingarc.tirocini.bo@unibo.it and copying (cc) both the Host Contact Person and the Academic Tutor, putting in the subject line Suspension of internship.

Having consulted with the competent Internship Board, the Internship Office either notifies the restart of the internship, indicating a new end date for completion of the programme in progress, or the termination of the internship with an adverse outcome, inviting the student to present a different internship programme.

How to change the internship programme/academic tutor/host contact person

If it is necessary to change the internship programme and/or the Academic Tutor and/or the Host Contact Person after the start of the internship, the student must send an e-mail explaining the reasons from name.surname@studio.unibo.it to ingarc.tirocini.bo@unibo.it and copying (cc) both the Academic Tutor and the Host Contact Persons, putting Change of internship programme and/or Academic Tutor and/or Host Contact Person in the subject line.

Having consulted with the competent Internship Board, the Internship Office notifies acceptance or rejection of the change by e-mail.
