Wellness and Sport Management

The main objective of this degree programmeis to provide second-cycle graduates with advanced scientific knowledge for themanagement of sporting facilities and the organisation of sporting events.
During the course, students obtain knowledge and skills in the field ofsporting activities and physical exercise that are relevant in legal andoperational terms to the areas of strategic planning, business organisation,sports law, marketing, communications and the planning of activities at locallevel.

Additionally, students obtain knowledge about sports facilities and theequipment safety.
Particular attention is dedicated to the organisation of tourism, sporting andwellness activities.
A further objective of the degree programme is to provide second-cyclegraduates with advanced scientific knowledge about the management of SportsClubs operating at the highest level.
These objectives are achieved via lectures, seminars and meetings with expertsin the field, as well as case studies; lastly, an experiment-based dissertationis prepared on a topic relevant to the curriculum studied.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

In order to complete successfully thesecond-cycle degree programme in Wellness and Sport Management it is necessaryto have acquired sufficient knowledge of the basic concepts underlying thesporting, legal and economic disciplines.
Knowledge and competence in B-1 level Englishis assessed via the University Language Centre. Students with equivalentlanguage certification may be exonerated.

In order to access this second-cycle degreeprogramme, students must have graduated in one of the following classes or holda foreign degree recognised as suitable:

- pursuant to Italian Min. Decree 270: L –22; L-18; L-33; L-14
- pursuant to Italian Min. Decree 509/99:Classes 33, 17, 28, 2, 31
- ISEF Diploma

If the above requirements are notsatisfied, access to the second-cycle degree programme is subject to possessionof one of the following diplomas: first-cycle degree, three-year universitydiploma, four-year university diploma, diploma recognised as suitable inaccordance with special laws or foreign diploma recognised as suitable, thatallow the recognition of at least 60 University Learning Credits in subjectgroups relevant to the essential learning activities of Class L-22, asidentified in the Min. Decree dated 16 March 2007 on the classes of Universitydegrees (Official Gazette 155 dated 6-7-2007 - Ord. Suppl. 153).

The University Learning Credits requiredfor access to the degree programme are recognised by a Committee appointed bythe Degree Programme Board upon specific request from the candidate.

In addition to possession of theestablished curricular requirements, admission to the second-cycle degreeprogramme depends on passing a test to verify the adequacy of the personalpreparation of the candidate, which may be taken in one of the following ways:
- written exam
- oral exam
- written and oral exam
- assessment of the curriculum of thecandidate

The method of testing is established eachyear by resolution of the Degree Programme Board and published on theUniversity Portal.

It is essential to pass the test in orderto enrol for the second-cycle degree programme.

The preparation of candidates is deemedadequate, without need for a test, if they hold:

- one of the diplomas referred to in para.2, obtained with a graduation score equal to or greater than that establishedeach year by the Degree Programme Board and published in/on the StudentGuide/University Portal;

- one of the diplomas referred to in para.3, with at least 90 University Learning Credits recognised in subject groupsrelevant to the essential learning activities of Class L-22, as identified inthe Min. Decree dated 16 March 2007 on the classes of University degrees(Official Gazette 155 dated 6-7-2007 - Ord. Suppl. 153), obtained with agraduation score equal to or greater than that established each year by the DegreeProgramme Board and published in/on the Student Guide/University Portal.

The second-cycle degree programme may holda specific session for international students and appoint a committee to verifythe adequacy of their personal preparation, consistent with the timingenvisaged in the call for applications for study grants (deadline typically inMay).

The international students who are assessedpositively above are exonerated from later verification of the adequacy oftheir personal preparation, which is required for other candidates.
