Acknowledgement of an extra-university activity as a curricular internship

If you have carried out an extra-university activity consistent with your course of study, you may request its recognition in place of the ELECTIVE INTERNSHIP only (8 credits).

The activity may include:

• employment (fixed-term or permanent), project-based work, apprenticeship, extracurricular internships, etc.;
• Universal Civil Service activities;
• volunteer work with organizations authorized for volunteering (see Legislative Decree 112/2017).

You may submit a recognition request:

• regardless of whether a formal agreement exists between the University and the host organization where the activity was carried out;
• at any time of the year, bearing in mind the time required to evaluate your request.

  ***** PLEASE NOTE. It is not possible to submit the recognition request for the mandatory internship of 13 credits. 

To apply for recognition please submit the following documents (available in the attachment box) to the Student Administration Office:

• The recognition request form;
• The certificate of working activity: A document related to your work or internship activity, signed by your employer or reference person, where your position in the firm or organization is specified;
• A brief report where you sum up your job description or your activities as an intern;

 Please Note: Before submitting the application, inform the course of studies about the activities that have been carried out (or that will be carried out) in order to verify whether they are eligible for recognition.

The documents must be sent (by post) to: Economics, Management and Statistics - Student Administration Office/Segreteria Studenti Economia, Management e Statistica. Alternatively, you may arrange an appointment to hand in the documents in person (please refer to the Student Administration Office contact information in this page). Please note: It is not possible to send the documents by e-mail.

Your recognition request will be evaluated by the Degree Programme Board in coordination with the Internship Board.

You will be notified of the outcome by the Student Administration Office within max 60 days from the date of submission.
If the request is approved, the internship will be automatically recorded in your academic career.

Please note:

• If you are about to graduate, you must take into account the deadline for fulfilling the requirements to access the final degree examination. Therefore, you should submit your recognition request well in advance.
• The recognition of credits may affect the assessment of merit-based requirements for eligibility for full tuition fee waivers or for the calculation of student contributions based on financial need and academic merit.
• You may not request recognition for activities that have already been previously recognized.
