The Program is taught entirely in English. 

Please note that the attendance at the GIOCA courses is compulsory.

Number of available places and deadlines

In order to guarantee the quality of the educational environment, admission to the GIOCA Program is regulated by a selection process evaluating the applicants' academic preparation, CV and language ability.

For the a.y. ​2020/21, the total number of students to be admitted is 30: 
  - 15 positions are reserved for Non-EU students
  - 15 positions are reserved for Italian and EU students.

Deadlines:

APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 30, 2020, at 1 pm;

List of admitted candidates to the interview by May 25, 2020;

Interviews (possible videoconference interview): June 3-4-5, 2020;

Admission ranking: by June 29, 2020;

Enrollment deadline: July 20, 2020.

Students who have not completed their first level degree (Bachelor's) may participate in the selection process, but they must graduate before October 31, 2020. 

Requirements

To be admitted to GIOCA it is necessary to have:

  • at least a first level degree (Bachelor’s) or an equivalent degree in any discipline from an Italian or foreign university that has been deemed eligible;
  • English language knowledge is required. Candidates must possess a minimum B2 level or equivalent in order to be admitted to the selection procedure. Proof of their English language (minimum B2 level) is demonstrated by submitting any one of the following:
     -   Certificates: TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge English Language Assessment, Trinity College London, issued no longer than 4 years prior to the deadline for application. To check the correspondence with the B2 level, please refer to the conversion table available at http://www.cla.unibo.it/idoneita-linguistica/equipollenza-dei-titoli-1.
    -    Attended a first cycle degree held in English (to indicate on the CV form).
    -    Passed a B2 level English exam in their previous academic study plan.
    -    English is the student's mother tongue (to indicate on the CV form).

Candidates without a B2 level knowledge of English, who had booked an exam session which was cancelled due to the health emergency will be exceptionally admitted to the selection attaching in the field dedicated to the English language requirement B2 on www.studenti.unibo.it the following documentation:  

  •  Proof of reservation of the exam and/or communication received from the relevant body to the cancellation/postponement of the exam.  

These candidates will have to sit a language assessment interview held by the Commission between 30 April 2020 and 25 May 2020.  

The date of the interview will be communicated to the candidates by e-mail and published on the website of the Degree Course in Innovation and Organization of Culture and the Arts, admissions section

  • Have a good general knowledge and notions of culture and the arts and have a strong vocation for the relevant contents and topics of the Program.

Admission Procedure

Admission to GIOCA is regulated by an evaluation of the candidate’s preparation. The selection is composed of two parts:

  1. An evaluation of the CV and of the other documents submitted;

    + evaluation of English language certificate higher than B2 level

    + evaluation of the reference letter (optional)

  1. An interview to evaluate the commitment, attitude and skills of the candidates and to ascertain the English level. 

To facilitate the participation of students living abroad, it will be possible to hold the interview through video conference methods (please read carefully the application procedure).

How to apply

The application procedure is available online at STUDENTIONLINE. No paper applications will be accepted.

To register to the application process a fee of 50,00 € is required.

By the deadline, candidates must upload (pdf format) the following required documents:

1) The Curriculum Vitae by filling the “CV Form” published on this page.

2) A copy of a valid identity document (ID card or passport);

3) For Non-EU students: a copy of the permit of stay, if you already own it;

4) A transcript of the First Cycle Degree (Bachelor’s) or of any certification mentioned in the CV;

5) English language certificate; 

6) Optional: Reference letter. 

Information for International students

If you are an international student (NON-EU), you must do the pre-enrolment at the Italian Embassy for your country in order to apply for entry Visa for reasons of study

EU and Non-EU students with a foreign degree, once admitted to GIOCA, next to complying with the rules and deadlines established by the University of Bologna, must pre-enrol online through the Universitaly portal by July 2020. For more information:

Matriculation

After you have checked that all the admission requirements have been met, you can enrol on Studenti online:

  1. complete the application for matriculation with the required data and attach an ID photograph in digital format;
  2. pay the first instalment of tuition fees.
  3. Follow the instructions to complete the procedure and receive your badge

Remember that to complete matriculation

a) if you are a non-EU citizen with EU equivalent status, you need to send a copy of the valid residence permit giving you EU equivalent status to the responsible Student Administration Office;

b) if you are a non-EU citizen residing abroad, see the detailed information. You will need to send to the responsible Student Administration Office a copy of your valid residence permit or, if your residence permit has not yet been issued, a copy of your study entry visa and subsequently a copy of the receipt confirming submission of your application, with which your matriculation will be accepted subject to verification;

c) if you have a degree obtained abroad, see the detailed information. You will need to send the degree documentation to the responsible Student Administration Office.

If you have a disability with an assessed level of invalidity of at least 66%, or you hold disability certification in accordance with Italian law 104/92, you can request exemption by sending the certificate proving the condition to the email address of the responsible Student Administration Office
