Some tips before coming to University of Bologna
At their arrival, during the Welcome Week, international students will be supported in completing the procedures for: PERMIT OF STAY, HEALTH INSURANCE, FISCAL CODE and ENROLLMENT.
The Welcome Week is designed to show to new admitted students what UNIBO is all about. Students will attend orientation meetings and Kick-off meetings for each Program. They will meet new colleagues, professors, tutors and coordinators; they will get an insight into the learning activities, courses and useful tips and will discover all the opportunities offered at the School.
Admitted students will receive a Guidebook with all the practical information.

Once admitted to GIOCA, International students have to provide the following documentation to the Registrar office:
NON-EU students residing abroad
Before they leave, they have to:
o Begin the pre-enrollment at the Italian Embassy
o Apply for entry VISA for study reasons
o Begin the enrollment procedure on studenti online
o Contact the Italian Embassy/Consulate offices in the country in which the diploma was awarded and get hold of the following documents:
1. University qualification;
2. Declaration of Value for the qualification issued by the Italian Embassy-Consulate offices in the country in which the diploma was awarded;
3. a certificate issued by the competent academic authority, duly validated by the Italian Embassy-Consulate offices, with details of examinations passed and the study programs for each individual examination taken;
4. any other certificates regarding studies completed;
5. two passport-size photographs
EU and Non-EU students with equivalence to Italian citizens with a foreign degree should contact the Italian Embassy/Consulate offices in the country in which the diploma was awarded and get hold of the following documents:
1. University qualification (European Union citizens can self-authenticate the academic qualification);
2. Declaration of Value for the qualification issued by the Italian Embassy-Consulate offices in the country in which the diploma was awarded;
3. a certificate issued by the competent academic authority, duly validated by the Italian Embassy-Consulate offices, with details of examinations passed and the study programs for each individual examination taken;
4. any other certificates regarding studies completed;
5. two passport-size photographs

Students from abroad can find support at SAIS - Student Accommodation and Information Service that supplies information to international students for a wide range of solutions, also making them available on the website. The accommodation inquiry form must be completed and forwarded at least a month before the arrival date. SAIS also gives practical information regarding the stay in Bologna (registration, residence permit, opening a bank account, etc.).
