Crash Course in Economics - Microeconomics and Macroeconomics - Dr Matteo Cati

The Crash Course aims to provide the tools needed to understand and study the basic concepts of economics that are required for the Laurea Magistrale in Tourism Economics and Management, and are addressed to students holding a bachelor no conferred by a Faculty/School of Economics. However all students are welcome to attend the Crash Course in Economics, that is an opportunity to review the fundamental concepts of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.

In fact, enrollment at TeaM does not forcefully require the continuity of curriculum with the path that the student has completed during the bachelor degree, and this may be a problem for students who have certain cultural experiences different from a typical curriculum in business and economics.

Attendance is, therefore, strongly recommended for students who do not have a degree in business and economics, but it is also recommended to all the other students. The course itself is not mandatory.

For the academic year 2012/13 the Crash Course in Economics provides two distinct modules:

  • Principles of Macroeconomics (Dr. Matteo Cati)
  • Principles of Microeconomics (Dr. Matteo Cati)

The calendar is the following:

Monday 24/9/12 from 9 to 13 - Red Lab
Tuesday 25/8/12 from 8 to 11 and from 12 to 14 - Red Lab
Thursday 27/9/12 from 9 to 13 - Green Lab
Friday 28/9/12 from 12 to 14 - Red Lab

Any change in the calendar will be announced thorugh the Orario delle lezioni and the Last Minute.

The main themes and references, available at the University Library, are listed in the home-pages both for the Microeconomics and for the Macroeconomics section. Each student will be given the opportunity to consult and use the contents of the experimental moodle site, written by the Tutor Doctor Cati. See the power point presentation in this attachment and read how to access the abovementioned experimental moodle site by the Tutor Doctor Cati.
