METROPOLIS is an innovative board game developed at the Silesian University of Technology by the URBANMODEL group. It transports players into the world of urban challenges, strategies, and sustainable development. Players take on the roles of urban planners and city managers whose goal is to create the most efficient and most citizen-friendly metropolis. During gameplay, you make decisions regarding infrastructure, transportation, energy, environmental protection, and budgets. Each choice has consequences—both social and economic. The game develops analytical skills, teaches systems thinking, and explores issues related to spatial planning and smart cities.
