Starting from the academic year 2023/2024, the Veterinary Medicine course requires:
1. Adequate knowledge and skills
The assigned additional training obligation is considered fulfilled by:
- passing a specific verification test consisting of text comprehension, biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and reasoning, which will take place on the days determined by the course Council and will be announced shortly on the Course's website;
- or, alternatively, by acquiring (verbalizing) at least 35 CFU from the mandatory first-year educational activities.
2. English language proficiency at (at least) B1
English language proficiency at B1 level is verified by passing the "English Language Proficiency Test - B1 level" administered by the University Language Center.
Students who achieve a result corresponding to or exceeding B1 level demonstrate the required English language skills for access to the course and will not be assigned any additional training obligations (OFA).
For information on the English language test, you can refer to the dedicated "Language skills assessment test" page.
Students who have already obtained a B1 level certification from the University Language Center based on previously acquired certifications or have already passed a B1 level English language proficiency test in a previous university course are exempt from the mandatory English language knowledge test.
Students who do not fulfill the additional training obligations (OFA) by March 31 of the year following their enrollment will not be able to take exams in the following years and will be required to re-enroll in the first year.
Example: for students enrolled in the academic year 2023/2024, OFAs and their related tests must be fulfilled/passed by March 31, 2025.
For the Veterinary Medicine course, the candidate is required to have, in addition to adequate knowledge and skills in general culture and logical reasoning, biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and English language proficiency at B1 level.
It is important to note that the additional training obligation exclusively concerns the type of fundamental preparation required for course access and has no impact on the number of credits the student must earn.
The possession of English language proficiency at B1 level is verified by passing the "English Language Proficiency Test - B1 level" administered by the University Language Center.
A student who achieves a result corresponding to or exceeding B1 level demonstrates having the required English language skills for course access and will not be assigned any additional training obligations (OFA).
For information about the English language test, you can refer to the dedicated "Language Proficiency Assessment Test" page and the University Language Center (C.L.A.) website.
Students who have already obtained a B1 level certification from the University Language Center based on previously acquired certifications or have already passed a B1 level English language proficiency test in a previous university course are exempt from the mandatory English language knowledge test.
Students who achieve a result lower than the B1 level will instead be assigned an Additional Training Obligation, which is considered fulfilled by passing the "English Language Proficiency - B1 Level" test as specified in the study plan, by the end of the academic year (March 31 of the following year). Students who do not fulfill the Additional Training Obligation in the first year will be required to re-enroll in the first year.
