Graduation final mark calculation criteria
The final mark is determined by the Examination Board during the thesis defense and will take into account the average of all exams marks as reported in the student’s career.
The graduation final mark (GFM) is calculated as: GFM = MP + BV + PF (Weighted Average)
MP represents the weighted average of the exam grades obtained during the degree program and subsequently converted to a scale out of 110.
BV (Speed Bonus)
The speed bonus depends on the time taken to complete the degree program:
- BV = MP × 0.0325 if the program is completed within 3 academic years.
- BV = MP × 0.0145 if the program is completed within 4 academic years.
- BV = 0 if the program is completed in more than 4 academic years.
PF (Final Examination Score)
PF is the score awarded for the final examination (thesis/dissertation), with a maximum of 4 points, including rounding.
Honors (Cum Laude)
Honors are awarded if:
- GFM ≥ 113/110, or
- GFM ≥ 110/110 and at least three honors (distinctions) were obtained during the exams of the degree program.
