The University of Bologna has confirmed its position among the world’s leading institutions in archaeology: according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject – Archaeology, the Alma Mater ranks 19th globally, placing it in the international top 20 for the discipline.
This result strengthens the university’s role as a key reference point in the field of archaeology and archaeological heritage, within a ranking that evaluates more than 250 universities worldwide.
The achievement is part of a broader positive performance: the University of Bologna is among the most represented institutions across subject rankings and holds several national distinctions, confirming the strength of its research and academic reputation.
This recognition further consolidates the legacy of the Alma Mater—the oldest university in the Western world still in operation—and highlights its global competitiveness in the humanities.
