Italian language courses for international learners

The University Language Centre – CLA offers Italian language courses for international learners, with a choice between intensive courses and semester courses (levels A2, B1 and B2).

What they are

Intensive courses take place only in Bologna, in both the first and the second semester (September and January). They last 10 days, with 4 hours of lessons per day.
Semester courses are offered in Bologna and in the Romagna Campuses, twice a year (October–December and February–May). They last approximately 13 weeks.

Among the semester courses, there are also courses in Specialised Communication (level B1) and Academic Italian courses (levels B2-C2).

How to enrol

The first course you attend at the Language Centre is free of charge, while an enrolment fee is required for subsequent course.

First, you need to decide:

  • If you want to attend the course in Bologna Campus or in Romagna Campus
  • In which semester to attend the course

Second, you need to complete a placement test to enroll in an Italian course.
