The 2nd cycle degree programme in Business Management trains Managers able to perform management tasks in single-business or diversified companies, or in any of their relative functional areas: strategic analysis, sales, marketing, human resources, strategic control, coordinating teams of experts and technical staff in charge the promotion, market development and marketing of products and services, implementing the company sales policies and intervening in all company processes. These professional figures require in-depth knowledge of economic theory, international accounting and management control, and must be able to use quantitative models to adopt a systematic approach to problem solving. The core learning activities privilege the indispensable competences of business managers and business consultants: the activities included in the study plan aim to provide the minimum skills required for starting a professional career. The programme focuses particularly on business subjects, but also provides the required skills in mathematical, statistical, economic and legal fields.
In the Italian curriculum, knowledge of the English language is consolidated during the English language course unit included in the study plan, and assessed in the relative exam. Students apply the acquired knowledge and skills to further learning activities, also for the preparation of the final examination.
Curricular requirements:
To be able to profitably follow the 2nd cycle degree programme in Business Management students must possess the following knowledge:
- basic knowledge of mathematics;
- basic knowledge of business subjects;
Admission to the 2nd cycle degree programme is subject to the possession of the following curricular requirements:
A 1st cycle three-year degree in any class, or a degree from a previous four-year degree system, or other suitable qualification obtained abroad.
Assessment of knowledge and language skills
For Business Administration:
Only students holding a certified English knowledge equal to B1 (or an equivalent language certification) can apply to the program.
For International Management:
Only students holding a certified English knowledge equal to B2 (or an equivalent language certification) can apply to the program.
Restricted access
The second cycle degree programme may adopt restricted access set at local level (pursuant to art. 2 of Italian Law 264/99) depending on the available resources. The number of places and selection methods are published annually in the relative call for applications.
Assessment of personal competencies and skills
Admission to the 2nd Cycle Degree Programme is subject to the possession of the prescribed curricular requirements and to the passing of a test to assess personal competencies and skills, which will be done by setting a minimum score in the entrance exam set for this restricted access programme.
