Cinema, Television and Multimedia Production

The programme is designed to train experts in the various professional cultures linked to cinema, the audiovisual sector and the digital ecosystem. Providing advanced theoretical and practical competences in the methods and forms of audiovisual and multimedia products, the programme sets out to train skilled operators in the creation, management, critique and teaching of all forms of audiovisual contents, as well as specialist researchers.Students will undertake a learning path that accompanies theoretical methodological and/or analytical courses with others developing organisational and practical skills.The second cycle degree programme in Cinema, Television and Multimedia Production covers three main learning areas.1. Media: in this area students will acquire theoretical, analytical and updated practical competences in new technologies, the most recent developments in the media field and innovations in the audiovisual industry.2. History and criticism: in this area students will acquire the analytical tools for the analysis of cinema, television and multimedia texts, in their historical and theoretical aspects.3. Practical and organisational: in this area students will acquire methodological and technical skills for working at different levels of the production and distribution chain, including promotion and archiving in the cinema, multimedia and television fields.The Degree Programme includes the organisation of conventions, conferences, seminars and workshops with the participation of adjunct lecturers and professionals, also from foreign universities and institutions, complementing the teaching activities implemented through lectures, thus expanding the programme catalogue by developing a dynamic relationship between scientific research, teaching and participatory teaching activities.

Admission to the two-year Master's Degree Programme in Cinema, Television and Multimedia Production requires:- a good awareness of the methodological approaches to various forms of audiovisual products (texts, production, use) and the related theoretical bases;- an overview of the history of cinema and audiovisual media;- basic competences in the historical and analytical interpretation of audiovisual texts;- basic IT skills, including familiarity with digital media and the Internet;- correct oral and written communication in the Italian language and at least level CEFR B1 in the English language.Admission to the programme requires possession of a bachelor's degree or three-year university diploma, or any other degree obtained abroad, recognised as suitable. Alternatively, possession of a first cycle degree under the previous system awarded after five years of study and recognised as suitable by the Degree Programme Board.Additionally, candidates must meet the curricular requirements and pass the assessment of personal knowledge and skills.Curricular requirements1.a) A degree in one of the following classes:- pursuant to Italian Min. Decree 509/1999:13 Cultural heritage studies:23 Visual arts, music, performing arts and fashion studies; 29 Philosophy; 05 Humanities; 11 Modern languages and civilisations; 03 Applied languages; 14 Communication studies; 36 Sociology; 38 Historyand previous four-year degree programme systems.1.b) Or a level 1 qualification from a Fine Arts Academy (ex law 508/99).1.c) For foreign graduates: possession of a qualification recognised as suitable.2) Have basic knowledge in the necessary subject areas and have obtained at least 42 university credits (CFU) overall, specifically in: L-ART, L-FIL-LET, L-LIN, M-STO, M-FIL, SPS and in particular:L-ART/03 History of contemporary art, L-ART/06 Cinema, photography and television, L-FIL-LETT/10 Italian Literature, L-FIL-LETT/11 Contemporary Italian literature, L-FIL-LET/14 Literary Criticism and Comparative Literature; L-LIN/12 English Language and Translation; M DEA/01 Population Studies, Ethnography and Anthropology, M-STO/04 Contemporary History, M-STO/08 Library Management; M-FIL/04 Aesthetics, M-FIL/05 Philosophy and Theory of Language, SPS/07 General Sociology, SPS/08 Sociology of Culture and Communication, of which at least 18 CFU in L-ART/06.Assessment of personal competencies and skillsAdmission to the second cycle degree/two year master programme requires candidates to pass an assessment of personal competencies that will be held according to the methods defined in the degree programme teaching regulations.
