Assessment of the English language knowledge

B2 level (at least)

In order to meet the B2-level language requirements for the a.y. 2023/2024, students must submit an English certification or an equivalent qualification proving level B2 or higher, including:

  • a certificate (or self-certification where required by law) attesting a higher education or university qualification obtained in English;
  • a certificate (or self-certification where required by law) attesting the achievement of a B2 (or higher) English level in a language exam not earlier than 01/01/2020 (the certificate must also clearly state the level achieved, otherwise it will not be possible to take it into account); please note that certificates issued by the University Language Centres are taken into consideration in this category even if they are not recorded in the student's career, provided that they clearly indicate the level achieved;
  • a certificate (or self-certification where required by law) attesting the completion in English of at least 60 CFU during the university career (in Italy or abroad through international mobility programs); these certifications will be considered valid only if the last exam was taken not earlier than 01/01/2020;
  • Applicants who have taken OOPT for other degrees at the University of Bologna not earlier than 01/01/2020 will be accepted as well.

If you do not submit a valid certification, you must obtain one independently by the application deadline.

Alternatively, to prove your English proficiency, you must take an Oxford Online Placement Test (OOPT) on the dates offered by the university (the test does not involve the attribution of any additional score):

  •  For the 1st intake: 04/May/2023
  • For the 2nd intake: 4/July/2023 or 6/July/2023 (if there are no available positions on 4/July/2023)

The test result will only be valid for the admission to the Master's degrees in “Economia e Management” and in “Business Administration and Sustainability”, therefore no certification can be requested.

Candidates without a valid language certification who fail to pass the B2-level English exam will be considered NOT ELIGIBLE, therefore, they will not be able to enrol in the programme.
