Second Cycle Degree/Two Year Master in Electrical Energy Engineering

Request for the recognition of university credits for working, extra-curricular, other activities

If you have carried out a working/extra-curricular activity, or an experience outside the University, consistent with the Degree Programme learning outcomes, you can ask for the recognition of such activities as curricular internship (internship and/or internship for the preparation of the final examination).

In order to make sure such activity is in line with the learning outcomes of your Programme and will be therefore recognized once completed, it is necessary to inform the Coordinator of your study course, the Head of the Internship Board, your thesis supervisor (internship for the preparation of the final examination) and get a prior approval.

You can submit a request for recognition whenever you want as long as two conditions are satisfied:

-the request is made in the academic year which includes the internship activity;

-the internship activity must be entered in the study plan.

Each CFU corresponds to min. 25 and max. 30 hours of activity.

In order to apply for recognition you must submit to the Student Administration Office:

1) application form for recognition of extracurricular activities;

2) declaration of performed activities issued by the host organisation;

3) report on the activities carried out arranged by the student;

4) a declaration of the end of activities issued by the Thesis Supervisor, certifying that the activity performed fits within the thesis project. Such documents, duly filled and signed, must be sent by registered mail with return receipt or handed by appointment to be agreed.

The request will be evaluated by the Degree Programme, in accordance with the Internship Board, and sent to the Student Administration Office. The office will register the activity in the student's career within 60 days from the submission of the request.

IMPORTANT!

- If you are about to graduate, please keep in mind there is a final deadline to have all credits registered (those coming from the recognition too).

- the credits recognised can impact the examination of the merit requirements to obtain the total exemption or the calculation of the student contribution based on economic status and merit..

- You can’t submit request for extracurricular activities already recognised by University.

IMPORTANT!

The possibility of recognizing or not of the activity carried out, as well as the number of credits to be assigned, is decided in each case following an interview (eligibility) with the Traineeship Commission of the Course of Study (Prof. Cristofolini).

During the interview, the student will be asked to describe the activity carried out, with specific reference to the project, identifying his/her contribution.

Generally speaking, recognition will be granted if the activity is consistent with the specific objectives of the Course of Study, considering both the content and the duration in hours of the commitment made.

Specifically, the three prerequisites for the recognition of the activity are:

1) the traceability of the subject carried out to one or more of the SSD characterizing the Course of Study (ING-IND/31, ING-IND/32, ING-IND-33, ING- INF/07). CFUs are in fact only recognized within these sectors;

2) the performance of at least 75 hours for the recognition of 3 CFUs and at least 150 hours for the recognition of 6 CFUs. Recognition may only be for 3 or 6 CFU.

3) the positive assessment at the interview (eligibility).

The activity will be recognized as a "free-choice activity" (TAF D) with a pass mark (no grade).
