In order to obtain your degree, you must pass a final exam. The modalities of this final examination are set by the Program’s Board and stated in the Program’s didactic regulations (see Degree Programme teaching regulations).
The final exam consists in writing a thesis on a topic coherent with the studies you have completed, originally elaborated and under the guidance of a supervisor. The thesis will then be discussed publicly on a specific date before the Graduation Committee.
The Graduation Committee will evaluate your discussion and your university CV as reference. During the presentation, you can use slides to exhibit your work and the Graduation Committee will ask in-depth questions regarding methodological aspects, results and any other development relative to your research.
To submit your application online, you must access Studenti Online before the deadlines set for the application submission and the requirements.
Graduation applications require the payment of €32.00 in stamp duty (imposta di bollo).
In order to graduate, you must have:
The Student Administration Office will verify all requirements and will contact you if there are any issues, to allow you to regularise your position before the final examination.
The graduation application is valid for just one graduation session. If you graduate in a later session, you will have to re-submit your graduation application and pay only the duty stamp.
There is only one graduation session every year. Within the session, there are dates regarding the terms relating to the submission of the graduation application, the possession of the necessary requirements, and your thesis discussion.
The composition of the Graduation Committees, and the time of your convocation will be announced by email (in your institutional address @ studio.unibo.it) approximately one week before your graduation date and can also be seen on Studenti Online, by logging in with your Unibo credentials and viewing your graduation forms.
You will also receive a second email containing the Microsoft Teams link; you can share the link with your additional guests so they can follow your graduation online.
One week before graduation we will send you an email asking you to send us the file with the slides you want to present during the graduation discussion; the file will be uploaded to a network folder which can then be accessed from the computer in the room where the graduation session will be held. The "file name" of your presentation must exclusively contain the surname and name of the graduating student and can be in PowerPoint or .pdf format.
The presentation must be sent, with a carbon copy, to your thesis supervisor by the indicated date.
Please note that the file sent will be considered definitive and modification or replacement cannot be requested.
