Starting from the 2023/2024 Academic Year, the Master's degree Mechanical Engineering for Sustainability (MES) will be activated and will replace the current Master's degree course; the new course will be totally in English.
The main objective of the master's degre is to train Mechanical Engineers who are able to face new technological challenges with particular attention to the sustainability of industrial products and processes. A qualifying aspect of the course, which includes 3 guided choices, is the strong characterization of the teaching of methods of analysis, synthesis and problem solving, oriented towards the systematic application in the industrial sector of the paradigms of environmental, economic and social sustainability and aimed at the best use of the most advanced techniques of virtualization and digitization.
Compliance with these principles is designed to pursue the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN 2030 Agenda:
SDG 4: Equal and quality education
SDG 7: Clean and affordable energy
SDG 9: Enterprises, Innovation and Infrastructures
SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production
SDG 11: Sustainable cities and communities
SDG 13: Fight against climate change.
The detailed teaching plan, with also the programs of the subjects, will be available on the site only in springtime. In the meantime, we have attached a short exemplary version of the new teaching plan in the box on the right-hand side.
