Second Cycle Degree/Two Year Master in Specialized translation

Admission requirements

The Second Cycle Degree Programme in Specialized Translation takes a limited number of students each year.

Each year, the Programme advertises the number of places available and the selection procedures through a call for applications. To enrol, candidates must:

  • provide evidence of English language proficiency, by passing a placement test for the required C1 level of English Competence;
  • take a preliminary test assessing their ability to translate between Italian and Chinese, French, German, Russian or Spanish. Download here the sample translation tests for the admission to the international MA in Specialized Translation

 To access the Second Cycle Degree Programme in Specialized Translation students should hold a First Cycle degree in one of the Italian Degree "Classes" listed below, or else a foreign Degree recognized as adequate (if this requirement is not met, access to the Programme is conditional on the evaluation of the candidate's CV by a Commission):

- L-11 Class: MODERN LANGUAGES AND CULTURES

- L-12 Class: LANGUAGE MEDIATION

  • ex. D.M. 509/99:

- Class 3: LANGUAGE MEDIATION SCIENCES

- Class 11: MODERN LANGUAGES AND CULTURES
  • Pre-existing four-year programmes: Degrees in

- "Translation and in Interpreting"

- "Translator and Interpreter"

- "Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures"
