Function in a professional context:
Translation and revision of specialised written texts in a variety of fields (technical and editorial, on physical and multimedia formats) covering different topics, also using the appropriate advanced technological tools (CAT tools, automatic translation engines, term bases).
Competences associated to the function:
Linguistic, cultural, methodological and specialised technological knowledge, skills and abilities are required to perform the above functions. Capacity for critical thought, investigation and (self-)assessment skills and the awareness of the ethical implications of the profession are also required. Finally, an inclination for self-learning and lifelong learning is also required. If the functions are performed in highly specialised technical or scientific areas (e.g. medicine, law), additional specialisation may be required.

Freelance profession or employee in language services providers, businesses, organisations, public and private research and documentation institutes, national and international organisations.
