Headquarters


The WACOMA Programme is based in Ravenna.
Lectures and other teaching activities, except for fieldwork, take place at Via Sant'Alberto no. 163.
The complex is used by the Bachelor's Degree Programme in Environmental Sciences and by the Master's Degree Programmes in Environmental Sustainability Science and Technology, and in Marine Biology.

Teaching Classrooms and Laboratories “Piermaria Luigi Rossi”, Via Sant’Alberto 163, inaugurated on 18/09/2025:
The facility houses lecture rooms, three teaching laboratories, an IT laboratory, a study room, a meeting room, and a lobby with tables and chairs adjacent to the porter’s desk.

Research Laboratories “Renzo Sartori”, Via Sant’Alberto 163:
This facility includes research laboratories, faculty offices, and an area used as a study room and, during lunchtime, as a refreshment area.

Lecture halls

 
All lecture rooms are located in the building known as the “classroom block,” named after Prof. Piermaria Luigi Rossi.
All rooms are equipped with a computer, network connection, and video projector. Almost all classrooms have powered desks (except for room T1, currently being upgraded, and T6/T7) and some interactive whiteboards.

Ground Floor Classrooms

  • Room T1: 60 seats

  • Room T2: 40 seats

  • Room T3: 40 seats

  • Room T4: 60 seats

  • Room T5: 60 seats

  • Room T6/T7: 80 seats (the room can be divided into two by means of a movable partition, becoming Room 7 and Room 8 with 40 seats each)

  • Room T8: 60 seats

First Floor Classrooms

  • P1 – P2 – P3 – P4: each with 25 seats

Laboratories

Laboratories are located in the new facility at Via Sant’Alberto no. 163 in Ravenna, inaugurated this year, and equipped with 25 workstations.

Computer Laboratory

It is located on the 2nd floor of the teaching classrooms in the Science area, named after Prof. Piermaria Luigi Rossi. Inaugurated this year, it can accommodate 32 people.

Study Rooms and Refreshment Areas


The new facility, named after Prof. Piermaria Luigi Rossi, hosts on the first floor a modern, spacious, and bright study room. It is equipped with microwaves and can be used as a refreshment area during lunch break from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

The “Renzo Sartori” Laboratory on the ground floor is a study space with tables (58 seats). Two PCs connected to the University network are available. Personal devices can also access the internet via ALMAWIFI, the University’s wireless network. The space can be used as a refreshment area, equipped with microwaves, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

 

Library

At the facility on Via Sant’Alberto 163, in the atrium of the Sartori Laboratories, there is BAS, an automated library that allows students to borrow and return textbooks easily, quickly, and independently.

The Central Library of the Ravenna Campus is located at Via Angelo Mariani, 5 (Ravenna), in Palazzo Corradini.

Among the services offered by the library are:

  • External book loans

  • Interlibrary loans for books and articles

  • Internet access via ALMAWIFI, the University’s wireless network

  • Secure proxy service, which allows access to the virtual library even from external internet connections outside the University

Research Laboratories


Within the Renzo Sartori Laboratories building, there are numerous laboratories where research is conducted on environmental applications across various disciplines, including biology, ecology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences.

Students can use these laboratories to carry out their thesis work. Occasionally, they are also used for practical exercises.
