Dr Corrado Pampaloni, former EU Ambassador to the Gambia e EEAS senior staff member will deliver a class on

"Stories from the Field - A critical view of development and why we still need development assistance".

The Lesson is part of the Laboratory: "International Organisations and the Governance of Development", taught by Professor Elisabetta Capannelli, SVIC Visiting Professor.

The Talk is delivered in English and is open to all those interested in the European Union role in development and in Africa.

Dr. Corrado Pampaloni, an Italian national and a retired Diplomat, joined the European External Action Service upon its inception in 2011. His last posting was that of Ambassador - Head of the EU Delegation to The Gambia. Between 2016 and 2020 he served as the Minister, Deputy and Acting Head of the European Union Delegation for the Pacific, based in Suva, Fiji. From 2015 to 2020 he also served as Head of the Mission Support Division and Chief of Staff. Dr. Pampaloni has extensive experience working in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola and other African countries. Prior to the EEAS he has worked for over 10 years for the European Commission in various capacities. Dr Pampaloni holds a degree in veterinary medicine (University of Pisa, Italy).
