The evaluation request is made to EAEVE on a voluntary basis by the structure that wants to be accredited.
For each level of evaluation, a "Self-Evaluation Report" (SER1 and SER2) must be produced for the structure and the related degree programme, providing detailed characteristics of the study programme and teaching facilities (following specific operative procedures provided by EAEVE).
The committee receives the SER at least two months before the visit, examines the documents carefully and verifies the congruence between what is written in the report and what is actually observed in the on-site visit.
During the five days of the visit, the committee (composed of five members for stage 1, two for stage 2, a student and a secretary) verifies the accuracy of what was written in the SER and, at the end, prepares a detailed report describing the its reasons for awarding accreditation or not.
EAEVE evaluation is mainly focused on teaching, in particular on the level of quality and efficiency of the educational structures and the adequacy and effectiveness of the study programmes.
However, it should not be forgotten that the committee also verifies the quality guarantees that come from the administrative structure and the research activities of the department.
