Information for International Students

Qualified students from foreign Universities attending exchange programs (Erasmus, Overseas, etc.) are welcomed @ UniBO

Courses in the Chemical and Process Engineering Masters Program are offered part in Italian and part in English.

All required courses in the “Ingegneria di Processo” (Process Engineering) and in the “Ingegneria Alimentare” (Food Engineering) curricula are only offered in Italian.

All required courses in the STEM (Sustainabile Technologies and biotechnologies for Energy and Materials) curriculum are only offered in English.

In order to profit of courses in the Chemical and Process Engineering Master offered in English, you must have the following requirements:

1) Sufficient knowledge of English language. A B2 level in English language is required.

2) Sufficient background. Courses are intended for students having a three-year bachelor or three years of previous instruction in Chemical Engineering. Check your background before enrolling in the course and contact the teacher if you feel that your background may not be sufficient.

3) Participation to an international program or payment of fees. In order to be allowed to access the course and to be admitted to the final examination, you need to be registered as an international student at the University of Bologna. This requires that you participate to an international program (Erasmus, Overseas, etc.) [link]. As an alternative, you may enroll to University of Bologna paying a specific fee (“single course” enrolment) [link].

Please refer to the STEM curriculum website for further details on courses offered in English [link to STEM website]

In order to profit of courses in the Chemical and Process Engineering Master offered in Italian, you must have the following requirements:

1) Sufficient knowledge of the Italian language. A B2 level in Italian language is required. Students that do not have sufficient proficiency in the Italian language can hardly benefit of the courses given in Italian. Exceptionally some teachers may decide to admit students with limited knowledge of Italian language to their classes (in particular in elective courses), but this possibility should be checked with the teacher. We strongly advise NOT TO SELECT/ATTEND courses in Italian without a sufficient knowledge of the language. Consider similar courses given in English in the STEM curriculum [link to STEM curriculum]

2) Sufficient background. Courses are intended for students having a bachelor in Chemical Engineering. Check your background before enrolling in the course and contact the teacher if you feel that your background is not sufficient.
