What is OFA (Additional Learning Requirement) and how to fulfil it

In order to enrol for the degree programme, it is important that you have certain basic knowledge. The knowledge verification, detailed in the page “Programme enrolment: requirements, deadlines and methods”, aims at ensuring that you do not have significant weaknesses in particular subjects for which appropriate preparation is required to tackle the degree programme successfully.

Degree programmes with restricted access adopt admission tests to check the fulfilment of the requirements.

Additional Learning Requirements (OFA) and enrolment in years other than the first

If you have been assigned Additional Learning Requirements, in the year subsequent to matriculation you will be enrolled in:

• the second year of the degree programme if you have successfully fulfilled the Additional Learning Requirements;
• the second year on a conditional basis until you have satisfied the Additional Learning Requirements and, in any case, until 31 March of each year, which coincides with the deadline of the exam session of the academic year of matriculation (e.g. by 31 March 2024 for students enrolled in the a. y. 2022/23 and 31 March 2025 for students enrolled in the a. y. 2023/24, BY 31 March 2026 for students enrolled in the a.y. 2024/25). As soon as you have satisfied the Additional Learning Requirements, your enrolment will change from second year on a conditional basis to second year, but if you do not satisfy them by 31 March you will be registered as a repeater of the first year.

How to satisfy the Additional Learning Requirements

The additional learning requirements are fulfilled by passing a specific OFA test. Download the syllabus from the box on the right side of this page.

Schedule for A.Y. 2023/24 is the following:

20th October 2023 at 2.30 p.m.

15th January 2024 at 2.30 p.m.

16th February 2024 at 2.30 p.m.

10th June 2024 at 2.30 p.m.

IMPORTANT!!! You must register to the exam on AlmaEsami at least four days before the exam date! The exam will take place in the Computer Lab, Via Tombesi dall'Ova 55.

The Student that within the first year passes the exams of both Mathematical Analysis and Physics, is exempted from the fulfillment of OFA.

Deadlines

The deadline for fulfilling the Additional Learning Requirements is 31 March of each year, which coincides with the deadline of the exam session of the academic year of matriculation (e.g. by 31 March 2024 for students enrolled in the a. y. 2022/23  - 31 March 2025 for students enrolled in the a. y. 2023/24 - 31 March 2026 for students enrolled in the a.y. 2024/25).

The rules and deadlines for the Additional Learning Requirements also apply to part-time students.
