First Cycle Degree/Bachelor in European Studies

Final examination: modalities

To graduate, you have to sit a final examination designed to verify that you have reached the education objectives set by the Degree Programme.

As a joint programme, the BAES Thesis is specifically regulated by the Consortium Agreement between the partner Univesities. The relevant documentation is attached below.

It is also reminded that, according to the Examination and Disciplinary Regulations (Annex II of the Consortium Agreement), "The final (graduation) grade for the Italian University system (110/110 scale) is calculated after the conversion in the Unibo scale (18/30) of all grades obtained by the student and certified in the Transcript of Records released by the Coordinating Party after the completion of all exams (180 ECTS) in due time for the awarding of the diploma. The final (graduation) grade for the Italian University system will be then given by the average grade obtained by the student, plus a bonus to be calculated in light of the final percentage as established by the Coordinating Party and indicated in the same Transcript of Records."

According to the same Consortium Agreement, the BAES thesis defence period is identified by the Local Academic Coordinator Board every year. For academic year 25/26, theses will be defended between the 25th of May and the 5th of June 2026. The retake varies according to each Awarding University's needs and will be organised locally after the 15th of July.
