Padova Model UPR 2026: applications open!

The 9th edition of the Padova Model UPR, a simulation of the United Nations Human Rights Council's Universal Periodic Review (UPR) mechanism, will be held from the 16th to the 20th of November 2026.

Published on 06 September 2026

During the simulation, students will be assigned different roles: representatives of States under Review, members of the Troika, Reviewing States, or delegates of Non-Governmental Organisations. They will assess and analyse each State's human rights situation, take part in interactive debates, engage in a peer-review process, and adopt the final lists of accepted and noted recommendations. The Padova Model UPR offers students from around the world a unique opportunity to learn about human rights, democracy, and diplomacy in an interactive and engaging way.
