Genomics provides the theoretical and practical basis for applying IT, mathematical and statistical skills to the analysis of genomic data and of transcriptomic, proteomic and epigenomic data, the biology of systems and metagenomics, in prokaryotes, eukaryotes and humans.
Students will gain:
- thorough knowledge in genetics and molecular biology;
- strong competences in computer programming, biostatistics, multiscale modelling and computational simulations.
Successful graduates will have:
- advanced biocomputing skills for gene-bank data mining, annotation, and management;
- theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the analysis of biological communities, cell populations and complex systems.
- knowledge of the fundamentals of bioethics for the management of sensitive information.
1. Because like no other degree programs it helps learn and use informatics to decrypt the language and information hidden in genomes
2. Because it is an absolutely new and innovative degree program which may offer extraordinary job prospects.
3. Because it makes me feel an active player in the scientific research and in bioinformatics
4. Because, the degree program being international, it will help me look towards the future and make me feel as a member of the world.
5. Because "Genomics" stimulates my curiosity and leads me towards unexplored fields full of surprise and wonder
