Participation in excavations organized by external institutions or universities must be agreed upon with the Degree Programme Coordinator.
To obtain credit recognition (CFU) and to benefit from insurance coverage, students must carefully follow these steps:
1. The student must request authorization (nulla osta) from the Degree Programme Coordinator, using the form available for download on this page. The completed form must be submitted to the Coordinator in paper format.
2. Based on the information provided by the student, the Coordinator will assess the relevance of the proposed excavation activity and initiate the procedures for establishing a specific agreement between the University of Bologna and the hosting institution/university. This agreement must then be approved by the Department Council. The administrative processing of such agreements is handled by Prof. M.T. Guaitoli, who may be contacted for information regarding procedures and timelines.
3. Only after obtaining the Coordinator’s approval and receiving confirmation that the agreement has been finalized can the student receive recognition of excavation credits (CFU) and be covered by the university’s insurance policy.
4. At the end of the excavation, the student must obtain a participation certificate from the excavation director. This certificate, together with the nulla osta signed by the Coordinator, must be submitted in its original form to the faculty member responsible for recording credits.
N.B. Since all agreements must be approved by the Department Council, students are required to submit their requests well in advance.
