Programme enrolment: requirements, deadlines and methods

The minimum graduate admission requirement for the Master’s Programme is a bachelor’s university degree of at least three years in duration, or gained through the acquisition of at least 180 ECTS credits, or other degree from accredited institutions recognized as equivalent.

Applicants holding an Italian degree are invited to read the Italian version of the course regulation for detailed indications about the applicant’s profile in terms of Italian university credits.

The evaluation of the applications is performed by the Master's Board which decides about eligibility based on the following requirements:

• The suitability of the applicants’ degree (curriculum studiorum) with regards to the fundamental subjects for chemical, materials or process engineering;
• The suitability of the applicants’ personal preparation (curriculum vitae);
• Proficiency in the English language (level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference).

Graduating students may send off their application as well as, provided that they have registered at least 165 ECTS credits in their career. If positively evaluated, they will be allowed to enroll under condition of receiving their bachelor degree by and no later than December 31st, 2025

The following materials must accompany the online application:

1. Front and back photocopy of your ID card/Passport or other valid identity document;
2. Resumé or Curriculum Vitae, including significant academic/work experiences in the field of the Master’s Degree; (see form)
3. Official transcript copy from every post-secondary institution attended, containing a list of the courses with grades (GPA etc.), the name of the final degree and the final grade;
4. Proof of English proficiency,In order to be admitted, Applicants must demonstrate an English Language Proficiency no lower than B2 level (according to CEFR – Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

The following certificates are deemed eligible:

• an International Language Certification, among the following: IELTS (min. 5,5); TOEFL (PBT 507-557; CBT 180-217; IBT 80-99); Trinity College of London (ISE II); Cambridge First Certificate of English; LanguageCert International ESOL; Cambridge Advanced Certificate in English (CAE); Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE); Pearson (PTE).
• Idoneità curriculare B2 level obtained duting your previous career from the Linguistic Centre of the University of Bologna (CLA-UNIBO) or other Italian Universities
• Furthermore, the English proficiency is deemed to be fulfilled by those having obtained a University degree fully delivered English with a minimum length of 2 academic years (120 ECTS) in one EU/EEA country as well as in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies, Guyana, Switzerland. English as a medium of instruction (MOI) should be clearly written down on the transcript of academic records.
  English proficiency certificates or MOI certificates released by universities of countries not belonging to the above mentioned list, are not admissible.

Academic title: When sending off your application, you will be asked to complete the field "Courses taken abroad – foreign academic title". There is no need to enter each exams taken, which are already set forth on the transcript of records: just enter the name of your Bachelor degree and your CGPA as well as the minumum and maximum CGPA according to the education system you graduated from.

The Admission Board will process the application forms in several intakes, according to the rules outlined above.

If the Admission board deems that an applicant meets the requirements, the application light will turn green (Positive Evaluation) on the online system; otherwise, the application light will turn red (Negative Evaluation).

PLEASE NOTE: Complete applications only are to be evaluated, that is, having all the compulsory documents uploaded by the deadline.

Incomplete applications received in the 1st intake will be turned down, yet the student will be able to submit a brand new application in the following intakes. On the other hand, from the 2nd intake onwards, incomplete applications shall remain pending and will be evaluated in the subsequent intakes as long as they have been fully finalized.

Timely applications are highly recommended also because eligible applicants have to undergo pre-enrollment procedure at the Embassy or Consulate in their country within due date.

After you have been pre-admitted (Conditional Offer) you will have to prepare for enrolment.

If you are a non-EU citizen resident abroad, read carefully the specific information prepared for you as you are required to go through the embassy's pre-enrollment procedure on the the Universitaly portal.

Revelant deadlines of the aforementioned pre-enrollment procedurewill be published later on into 2025. It is worth poiting out the pre-admission letter is not necessary anymore and therefore not to be sent off to admitted applicants.
