A workshop is a short intensive course aimed at allowing the exchange of ideas and the demonstration and application of techniques, skills and methodologies relevant to the I-CONTACT Programme.
I-CONTACT students have the opportunity to select 2 Workshops.
All students entering their second year are entitled to participate in the I-CONTACT workshops. The choice of the WS will be done usually in summer. According to the Council Board decision (14.06.2023) "The student may choose two Workshops only among those provided in his/her second year, with no possibility of attending them in the following academic year. Attendance to Workshops is compulsory."
The number of Workshops offered by the course is three, and each student is allowed to choose two among them. Please note that it is not possible to choose only 1 WS.
Each workshop lasts 42 hours, spread over 6 days (for more details check the PDF file in the box). They usually take place in the month of September, before the beginning of the Academic Year. Please note that students are allowed to attend workshops only in this timeframe and during their second academic year.
Each workshop is worth 4 CFU, for a total of 8 credits.
Workshops do not foresee a final exam nor an evaluation, 100% compulsory attendance is required. In case of absence for other academic commitments, students shall provide a justification and carry out complementary activities as agreed with the lecturer. Please note that below a given attendance percentage the WS won’t be validated.
In order to have your WS verbalized, you will need to add them in your Study plan as soon as you will have completed them and in any case before the study plan submission deadline (usually end of November).
I-CONTACT students, in order to graduate, need to have carried out a practical experience and to have it recognized in their study plan before graduation.
Students can fulfil such requirement whether by attending workshops or by carrying out a 8 CFUs internship (section 4 of the course structure diagram). However, if a student may be interested in workshops and in carrying out an internship (and having it recognized in the study plan) during his or her academic career, he or she may choose to attend workshops and to carry out a shorter internship of 150 hours (i.e. an internship of 6 CFUs to be added among the elective activities in section three of the course structure diagram).
