The programme trains conference interpreters and experts of technology mediated interpreting. It offers two curricula: Conference interpreting, a member of the EMCI; and Interpreting and Technologies for Communication, taught in English. Courses are highly profession-oriented and complemented by curricular internships, foreign exchanges, and a strong connection with the EU’s interpreting services
Students train in consecutive, simultaneous and advanced dialogue interpreting across several fields, with a strong focus on technological tools. Classes are taught by professional interpreters and can rely on cutting edge interpreting booths and remote interpreting platforms. Non-interpreting courses are geared towards completing the interpreter’s profile.
Students have the opportunity to spend time abroad at one or more of the world’s top Universities offering compatible courses, through Erasmus+ and Overseas programmes, bilateral agreements and special funding for working at one’s final thesis abroad. Additionally, EMCI students have access to short-stay exchanges with other EMCI member universities.
You get to choose between two curricula – ConfInt with Italian and two other languages; and InTeCo with English, Italian and one further language
Classes are taught in small groups. Trainers – who are professional interpreters – know you by your name, and their feedback is tailored to you.
You get to practice what you learn, during classes and also in conferences and internships where you interpret for real audiences.
You develop skills that you can immediately put to use on the job market, working freelance or in-house at companies or institutions.
You will find cutting-edge facilities and a window on the world, with several foreign exchanges and connections with the EU’s interpreting services.
