5829 - Work, Organizational and Personnel Psychology
This Second cycle degree programme aims to trainoccupational and organisational psychologists as described in the EuropeanEuroPsy model and EAWOP. These professionals are able to develop, design,implement and assess psychology interventions in various professional contexts,aiming to optimise the balance between individuals and work, individuals andcareer, individuals, working groups and organisation, with a view to promotingwell-being and personal and social realisation. The programme pays particularattention to the emerging social issues involving related topics, including:the promotion of occupational welfare, with a view to total quality of life andthe work-life balance; the relationship between human factors and safety atwork; globalisation and the management of diversity in the work place; remoteworking and the impacts of new technologies applied to working contexts. Thefirst year of the programme focuses on knowledge of theories and methodology,in four main disciplinary areas: Work Psychology; Organizational Psychology;Personnel Psychology; Human Factors, Safety and Occupational health Psychology.The second year sets out the develop practical competencies for professionalpractice in the same fields. Moreover, the programme assures the development oftheoretical and methodological knowledge and competencies required to conductresearch for scientific progress in the sector. The knowledge and competenciesare consolidated through a programme which, along with core course units,includes laboratory work to develop the knowledge and methodologicalcompetencies and a curricular internship to strengthen professional skills.
