Living in Bari
Bari is the capital city of the Apulia Region. It is on the Eastern coast of Italy, on the Adriatic sea. About 320,000 people live in the Bari municipality and about 1.2 million in the metropolitan area. Bari is a very active city, full of students thanks to its universities. The medieval Old Town is very characteristic, with the well known Saint Nicholas Basilica where the remains of Saint Nicholas are preserved. Today Bari is a modern city, visited by many people from all over the world, with a beautiful seaside on its North-Eastern side, and beaches even at walking distance from the city center.
Living in Bari is not expensive. Apartments have very reasonable prices, food is great and very cheap in comparison with other large Italian cities.
The Computer Science department has many facilities for both researchers and students. It is located in one of the University of Bari Campuses, at walking distance from the city center and the train station. The department, the city and its surroundings offer a stimulating environment that will lead to a great experience, from both a work and a personal life point of view.
