Professional practical training (PPT) covers three areas:
During the trimester, an extramural practical activity relating to exotic pets is planned, to be carried out at an external veterinary clinic affiliated with the Department.
Duration of the PPT in companion animals and horse reproduction: 3 trimester blocks (with the exception of the activities related to the PPT of horse Reproduction which, compatibly with the horse's reproductive season, takes place only from February to July):
Number of students: 27 for each trimester. Additional places are foreseen for Erasmus students and "fuori corso".
Before starting one of the clinical PPT it is necessary to read carefully the manuals on the page: Safety and health of the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences and to complete the tests on the safety of "companion animals" and "farm animals".
For biosecurity reasons, during the PPT it’s very important to wear dedicated clothing and shoes (anti-hardship in case of activities with horses / cattle).
To this end, numerous lockers were placed at the disposal of students in three areas of the clinical area:
Remember that it’s necessary to have a personal lock and that the locker must be freed at the end of each shift.
The PPT in Animal Production is active 9 months a year, from December to September with the exception of the month of August
