Laboratories

Laboratories are integral part of ACRA academic training. These are aimed at offering in-depth, first-hand experience on activities crucial for conducting archaeological research in both professional and academic environments.

Laboratories are complementary learning activities that provide 2 CFU eligible for the educational activities Fieldwork and Laboratories (1) and Fieldwork and Laboratories (2). In particular, each laboratory is worth 2 cfu.

For students enrolled in A.Y. 2025/26:

• B1741 Fieldwork and Laboratories (1) (LM) 6 CFU is a compulsory unit in their 1^st year
• B1742 Fieldwork and Laboratories (2) (LM) 6 CFU is an eligible unit in their 2^nd year

Attendance can be anticipated for both learning activities to the first year.

• Place: Laboratory rooms in Piazza San Giovanni in Monte 2 (if not stated otherwise)
• Period: Activities take place along the academic year
• Deadline: requests for the laboratories attendance must be presented by December 15, 2024
• CFU: Each laboratory requires 20 hours of guided practical activity plus individual practice and provides 2 CFU
• Attendance to each laboratory: must be requested in advance through the form available in the webpage and addressed to the contact information available for each laboratory and to disci.labarcheo@unibo.it
• Certificate: At the end of each activity students receive a certificate with original signature of the laboratory supervisor. All certificates must be presented for the validation of CFU as part of  FIELDWORK AND LABORATORIES, to the following mail: maurizio.cattani@unibo.it

For students enrolled in A.Y. 2024/25

• B1741 Fieldwork and Laboratories (1) (LM) 6 CFU is a compulsory unit in their 1^st year
• B1742 Fieldwork and Laboratories (2) (LM) 6 CFU is an eligible unit in their 2^nd year

Enrollment

For students who need to earn cfu for educational activities Fieldwork and Laboratories (1) and Fieldwork and Laboratories (2)

To enroll in one of the laboratories, you need to fill out the dedicated ONLINE FORM. Fill out one form for each request: you will be selected for one laboratory for each Fieldwork and Laboratories activity included in your study plan. Enrollment will be open from November 10th until November 21st 2025. Lists will be publish on the Master’s Programme web site November 24th.

For students who do not need to earn cfu
In this case, to enroll you must contact directly the professor in charge of the chosen laboratory. Enrollment will be open from November 24th to December 5th 2025. The enrollment will be communicate directly by the professor.
