What is an internship

The internship activity is an experience planned to complete your academic education with practical work at companies, public offices or labs within the University of Bologna.

Types of internships included in your Degree Programme

The Degree Programme includes:

- internship (compulsory), it allows students to gain 6 credits (CFU).

Eligible activities:

  1. Teaching assistant in support of one of the Professors at the Department of Mathematics.
  2. Internship activity at a Company/Organisation.

- internship for the preparation of the final examination (elective). It allows students to complete a scientific project at a research laboratory or at a Company/Organisation and to gain 10 credits (CFU).

When can you apply

You can apply for the curricular internship starting from the second year of enrolment; you can apply for the internship for the preparation of the final examination upon selecting it in your study plan (please read the information on how to modify the study plan) and agreeing with your thesis supervisor on the activity.
