Academic Calendar 2025/2026

Courses in the I semester: 15/09/2025 - 5/12/2025

Exam Session I semester: 13/12/2025 - 20/02/2026

Courses in the II semester: 23/02/2026- 15/05/2026

Exam Session II semester: 25/05/2026 - 24/07/2026

It is possible to sit one exam up to 3 times (“appelli”) per examination period.
Exams are held in person.

Digital Learning Agreement via EWP

The Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna is connected to EWP (Erasmus Without Paper) and manages Digital Learning Agreements through this system.

If your home university also uses the EWP system, you must submit your Learning Agreement through your home university’s platform.

The Learning Agreement will then be automatically sent to the University of Bologna, where it will be checked, approved, and signed.

If it is rejected, you will be notified by email and will need to make the required changes and repeat the procedure.

Learning Agreement via ALMA RM

If your home university is not connected to the EWP network, you must

The Learning Agreement will be checked, approved and signed, and you will then be able to download it in PDF format from ALMA RM.

If it is rejected, you will be notified by email and will need to make the required changes and repeat the procedure on ALMA RM.

Selecting Courses to Include in the Learning Agreement

You can choose your courses from:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Employment and Business Relations Consultant (3 years)
  2. Single-Cycle Degree in Law (5 years) (Bachelor + Master)
  3. Master’s Degree (LM) in Legal Studies (2 years)

Active courses are shown in blue (with active links) and are held either in the first semester, the second semester, or are year-long.

Courses displayed in black (inactive links) are not available and therefore cannot be selected.

Please, choose the courses that take place during yourmobility period.

 

Rules for Completing the Learning Agreement

IMPORTANT!

1.You are required to take at least 50% of all courses in your LA from the Department of Legal Studies (unless you are from an Overseas programme or from a Cooperation Agreement);

2.Please consult the List of Courses NOT AVAILABLE to Incoming Students, which includes the courses that cannot be added to your Learning Agreement, as well as a list of possible substitute courses.

Example:

  • 62514 – PRIVATE INTERNATIONAL LAW (Prof. Zanobetti) is not accessible and can be replaced with B6121 – PRIVATE INTERNATIONAL LAW.
  • 91364 – FOUNDATIONS OF PUBLIC COMPARATIVE LAW (Prof. Mancini) is not accessible and can be replaced with 69926 – COMPARATIVE CONSTITUTIONALISM.
  • Courses from the Italian–French Double Degree Programme in the LMCU in Law, marked with “F”, are not accessible.
  • Courses from the European Studies Degree Programme (Department of Political and Social Sciences) and some courses in the economic area are also not accessible.
  • In order to attend the law clinic: B2592 - VITTIME DISCRIMINAZIONE E DIRITTO (CLINICA LEGALE)it is necessary an adequate knowledge of the Italian language and a prior authorisation by the Professors in charge of the course. 
  • For courses from the LLM in Legal Studies (LEGS) it is necessary to check in advance with the dedicated Professor for possible prerequisites (since it is a Master level degree programme), and the required English proficiency level.

 If you are enrolled in a first-cycle degree programme (Bachelor) at your home university, you may attend courses from any year of the Single Cycle Master’s Degree in Law (LMCU) and the Master’s Degree in Legal Studies (LM). For any prerequisites, it is always recommended to contact the course coordinator.

Request for Authorization to Attend Courses from Other Departments

Only after receiving authorization from the appropriate International Mobility Office will you be allowed to include the course in your Learning Agreement.

 

Timetable Overlaps for Courses Divided by Letter Groups (A–L, M–Z, etc.)

For courses divided into groups (ex. A-L), you must attend the classes of the group corresponding to the first letter of your surname. In case of timetable overlaps, you may request to change groups by sending the Group Change Form to mobility.law@unibo.it within 30 days from the start of the course.

Requests submitted after this deadline will not be accepted.

Changes to the Learning Agreement

Please note that courses and timetables might have slight changes just before the beginning of the semester, so if you have already uploaded your Learning Agreement, wait up to the first weeks of lessons if you need to make changes in your LA

No more than three changes to the Learning Agreement are allowed for the entire duration of your mobility.
Any changes must be submitted within six weeks from the start of the courses.

Class timetables will be published:

  • for the 1st semester: by July
  • for the 2nd semester: by December

Our University Language Center (CLA) offers free Italian courses for exchange students, upon registration. Please remember to check deadlines so you won’t miss the registration period (places are limited. More information about Italian courses for international students can be found on this page
