Programme enrolment: requirements, deadlines and methods

To be admitted to the selection process, for Students with a Bachelor degree obtained Not in Italy it is necessary to:

1. have at least a first level degree (Bachelor’s) or an equivalent degree in any discipline from a foreign university that has been deemed eligible. Students who have not completed their first level degree (Bachelor's) may participate in the selection process, but they must graduate within October, 31st, 2024.
2. have an English language knowledge certification. Candidates must possess a minimum B2 level or equivalent in order to be admitted to the selection procedure. Only the English certifications issued within 4 years before 2024 are considered valid, regardless of their expiration date.
   
   Please check the equivalence with the international certifications in the box above (English Certificates Table).
   
   The English Language certification is NOT required only if:
   
   - the candidate attends or graduated in a first cycle or second cycle degree held in English (to indicate in the ENG FORM);
   
   - the candidate passed a B2 level English Language exam in his/her Bachelor's.
   It is required to attach the ENG FORM and transcript of grades with exam level B2 highlighted;
   
   - the applicant is an English native speakers (to be indicated in the ENG FORM);

2. it is also necessary to be in possession of the Degree as per Ministerial Decree n° 270 in one of the following Degree Fields (Classi di Laurea): 

• L-8 Information Engineering, 

• L-9 Industrial Engineering, 

• L-16 Administration and Organization Sciences, 

• L-18 Economics and Management Sciences, 

• L-33 Economics, 

• L-36 Political Sciences and International Relations, 

• L-41 Statistics, 

Alternatively, 

it is required to be in possession of a First-Cycle degree/Bachelor’s degree belonging to a Degree Field different from those mentioned above and to have acquired at least 36 ECTS among the following scientific disciplinary sectors (SSD): 

• SECS-P/01 Economics, 

• SECS-P/02 Economic Policy, 

• SECS-P/03 Public Economics, 

• SECS-P/05 Econometrics, 

• SECS-P/07 Business Administration and Management,

• MAT/03 Geometry, 

• MAT/05 Mathematical Analysis, 

• FIS/01 Experimental Physics, 

• IUS/04 Business Law, 

• IUS/05 Economics Law. 

1. CV form. Applicants must fill out the Form that is provided in the box aside. (CV Form)
2. Motivational Letter. Please note that this document must be in English.
3. A copy of a valid identity document (ID card, or passport). 
4. A copy of your permit of stay (if possessed). 
5. One or two reference letters (optional but evaluated).¹
6. First Cycle Degree Transcript of Records with credits and marks.
7. GRE/GMAT/GMAT Focus certificate (optional but evaluated).
8. ENG Form and a certificate of English proficiency.²

¹ The reference letters could be written by a Company’s Referee, Manager, Coordinator or Internship Tutor, or by University Professors. The reference letters must be uploaded by the Referee himself/herself on the Portal. The candidate must insert the Referee contact details on the application. Once the application is completed, the Referee will receive an automatic email explaining how to upload the reference letter.

² To certify your English Proficiency, the eligible certificates and documents are:

• International Certificates issued within 4 years (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge, OOPT), see the complete list (English Certificates Table);
• Transcript of Records of an English Exams (with the related mark or pass/fail) provided by the Candidate’s current/previous University or your Erasmus Partner University;
• first cycle or second cycle degree held in English;
• English native speaker;

Duolingo or similar apps’ certificates are not accepted.

The selection is composed of:

• Phase 1: an evaluation of the CV and the other documents submitted;
• Phase 2: an interview to evaluate the commitment, attitude and skills of the candidates and to ascertain the English level.

A specially appointed committee will evaluate the applications.

The Commission evaluates documents and certifications submitted by the candidates on the basis of the following criteria:

• Academic Grades (max 40 pt.);
• Curriculum Vitae (max 16 pt);
• International Experiences (max 12 pt);
• Reference Letters, up to 2 letters - OPTIONAL (max 8 pt);
• GRE/GMAT/GMAT Focus Certificate - OPTIONAL (max 24 pt).

Only a score equal to or higher than 60/100 in Phase 1 (i.e., CV evaluation) will allow the candidate to proceed to Phase 2.

The interviews will take place on remote, using Microsoft Team. The interviews schedule and the link for the virtual Microsoft Team room will be published on Studenti Online (SOL).

Only a score equal to or higher than 60/100 in Phase 2 (i.e., interview) will allow the candidate to successfully pass this phase.

Thus, candidates that obtain an overall score equal to or higher than 120/200 (i.e., the sum of CV evaluation score and interview score) are eligible for admission and will be placed in the ranking. On the contrary, those candidates who get an overall score lower than 120/200 will be automatically excluded from the ranking and will not be able to proceed with the enrollment.

In case two candidates obtain the same score, the younger candidate has the priority. 

Candidates - who do not have a Bachelor's Degree at the time of the application - can take part to the admission procedure. In case they successfully pass the selection, they can enroll to the programme under condition. This means they must obtain their Bachelor's Degree by October, 31st 2024, otherwise they will be automatically excluded from the programme even if already enrolled. The enrolment fee already paid will be refunded.

Two different rankings will be published: one regards non-EU citizens and one refers to EU citizens and non-EU citizens with EU equivalent status.

In case the places allocated for non-EU citizens will not be fully taken, they will be made available to EU citizens and non-EU citizens with EU equivalent status.

Those candidates who need adaptations for the selection process must request it within the application deadline. The candidate must proceed with his/her request by filling in the related request form for adaptations, which can be downloaded from www.studenti.unibo.it.
The form must be attached to the application in PDF format in the designated section for adaptations.

Those candidates with disabilities or DSA with foreign citizenship who would like to request special adaptations must submit the document to certify his/her disability or DSA from their country of residence. It has to be attached also the official translation into Italian or English.
