What is a study plan?

The study plan is the complete set of exams that you need to sit in order to graduate. Some exams are compulsory, while others are elective or optional.

Who can present a study plan?

A study plan can be presented by properly enrolled students who have paid their tuition fees and, in the case of international students, who hold a valid residence permit.

Please note, if you are planning to graduate in a.y. 2022/23 (i.e., graduation sessions October 2023, December 2023 or March 2024), you cannot edit your Study Plan during the a.y. 2023/24.

If you edit your Study Plan after the above deadline (i.e., after September 2023), you will be automatically enrolled in the a.y. 2023/24, therefore you will not be able to graduate before July 2024. In such case, it will be required to pay tuition fees also for the a.y. 2023/24.

When to present your study plan

The Study Plan must be filled out before sitting the exams in order to be able to register for exams and to allow professors to record your mark.

The online Study Plan can be submitted by students regularly enrolled in IM (having paid all tuition fees and, for Non-EU students, holding a regular permit of stay).

When:

Students can complete the Study Plan on Studenti On-Line in the following two periods:

1st period:
- September 28th - October 20th, 2023 ;
- December 1st - December 15th, 2023 (ONLY for enrolling students or students transfering from another university);

2nd period:
- January 11th - February 23rd, 2024

What are my choices?

To see all available possibilities, visit the Course Structure Diagram of your enrolling year.

A list of teaching activities offered by other Master's Level Program in English (Laurea Magistrale) at the School of Economics and Management can be added to the Study Plan and also Seminars and internships.

An additional Language B2 level certification-besides English- may be added to the individual plan of study for 6 ECTS. These languages are admitted: French, German, Spanish. Only International students are allowed to add an Italian Language A2 certification for 5 ECTS to their plan of study.

Students can add more than the required 8 elective ECTS to their Study Plan.

Please note that:

  • if you are planning to graduate in 2019/20 academic year, that is within March 2021, you cannot edit your Study Plan in the a.y. 2020/21 (that is in October 2020). If you do, you will not be allowed to graduate within March 2021.
  • it is NOT allowed to take exams of elective courses before the academic year in which these activities are planned in your course plan;
  • it is NOT possible to fill in the Study Plan outside the two above mentioned periods.
  • you need to include your chosen teaching activities in your study plan before sitting the related exam. Internships work the same way

For Outgoing Erasmus/Overseas (or other exchanges)

Students on international exchange mobility programs are requested to fill out their learning agreement anyway. Though the exams you will take abroad will be recognized on the basis of your approved Learning Agreement, in case you could not sit some of them while abroad you may need to sit the exams once back in Bologna. This is possible only if you included the teaching actovities in your individual plan of study in due time.

How to present your study plan

The study plan can be presented via Studenti Online by enrolled students who, accessing the website using their University usernames and passwords:
- need to add optional subjects to their plan;
- need to choose a curriculum;
- need to amend choices made in prior years.

After making the desired choices, remember to click on “save” so that your study plan can be presented correctly.

It is also advisable to print a copy of your completed study plan. This copy is in fact the only way to check for formal or substantive errors that might arise after uploading your study plan.

Approval of your study plan

If you select elective subjects from among those from the list, there is no need for assessment and your plan is approved automatically and input to your career file.

On the other hand, if you want to choose other form these, you have to fill in the online study plan for "standard" choices, and submit a specific application for the extra choices, using the form attached. Such extra-choices need to be first approved by the Degree Programme Board.
