Information on the evaluation clerkship (TPV) regulated by Italian DM 81/2018
Registration for hospital-based clinical clerkships can be accessed only by students who:
Attention! Students who carry out internship activities through International Mobility Programs promoted by Unibo (Erasmus+, Overseas, study grants for international learning experiences abroad and study grants awarded by the degree program) must NOT book these internships through the Studenti Online platform. These must only be listed in mobility documents and on Alma RM and will be registered through the normal recognition procedure.
Check this page for information on how to register for TPV evaluation clerkships (TPV) and how to manage your registrations.
Prior to attending TPV, students are required:
Payment must be made prior to the beginning of the first TPV period, not before the start of TPV online registration; the Student Administration Office will check the payment once the graduation application has been completed.
For further information about the payment of the special tax (‘tassa erariale’) for professional licensing, please refer to the Student Administration Office (see contacts on this page).
The TPV registration calendar is the same as that of hospital-based clinical clerkships.
Registration for TPVs are managed via ‘Studenti Online’, similarly to those for hospital-based clinical clerkships; registration for TPVs opens on 09:00h (Italian time) of the scheduled registration start date (see calendar page).
SPECIFIC NOTE for ‘TPV General Practice’
After booking on Studenti Online, students are requested to contact the selected General Practitioner to agree on the clinical clerkship.
Should a student wish to cancel their registration, they are requested to notify their cancellation to the chosen General Practitioner in good time.
Attendance to TPV evaluation clerkship (TPV) activities is compulsory; in compliance with Italian Ministerial Decree 81/2018, students must attend each component of the TPV as follows to meet the attendance requirement:
TPV evaluation clerkships of students who do not meet the minimum attendance requirement will be assessed as ‘failed’ (‘non idoneo’); in this case, a new TPV clerkship period must be booked following the procedure described on this page.
Attendance confirmation and pass/fail assessment of TPV clerkships periods are carried out by:
In order to obtain attendance confirmation and assessment, students must hand in the TPV clerkship booklet to the TPV clerkship Tutor during the last week of attendance. Booklets are available for download in the 'TPV clerkship booklets’ box on this page.
Booklets must be printed in two copies, one of which goes to the tutor while the other, duly filled in and signed, must be emailed to the Ufficio Servizi agli studenti (see ‘Contacts’ box).
All assessment results reported on TPV clerkship booklets will be overseen by the Degree Programme Director who will record the final ‘pass’ to the ‘Tpv Evaluation Clerkship (I.C.)’ learning activity only upon completion of all three TPV periods (TPV Medical Area, TPV Surgical Area, TPV General Practice Area).
Finally, please note that the full the ‘Tpv Evaluation Clerkship (I.C.)’ learning activity will be recorded only after passing all three TPV clerkships: it is not possible to record only parts of the activity.
Hospital-based TPV clerkships: please refer to the ‘Luoghi orari e referenti’ document available in the ‘Clinical clerkship contact details’ box on the hospital-based clinical clerkships web page.
TPV General Practice Area: please refer to the ‘Elenco Tutor MMG Bologna e Provincia TPV’ document available in the ‘TPV General Practitioner Tutor list’ box on this web page.
Remember to contact the selected General Practitioner in good time!
Clinical clerkship contact persons are indicated in the documents in the ‘Clinical clerkship contact details’ box on the hospital-based clinical clerkships web page.
On the first day of each clinical clerkship, hospital ward staff / the chosen General Practitioner will introduce students to the hospital ward/GP surgery and to the schedule of activities for the rest of the clerkship period; students are therefore strongly recommended to arrive on time.
During clinical clerkships, students must behave appropriately and in accordance with their role as prospective healthcare professionals.
Check the Code of Conduct and the Guidelines and clinical clerkship skills in the ‘Regulations and Guidelines’ box of the hospital-based clinical clerkships.
During TPV attendance, the same dress code rules of hospital-based clinical clerkships apply.
Should it become necessary to cancel a clinical clerkship due to impediments to attendance during the booked period, the application must be cancelled as soon as possible to allow for the vacant slot to be taken up by another student.
Applications can be cancelled on Studenti Online until 5 days prior to the scheduled start of the clinical clerkship (= the previous Wednesday).
Cancellations that should exceptionally become necessary after this deadline can be notified to Ufficio Servizi agli studenti and to the relevant hospital ward.
To reschedule a clinical clerkship following cancellation or ‘fail’ assessment due to non-attendance, a new application must be entered via Studenti Online, as described on this page.
Please note: it is not possible to register for more than one clinical clerkship for the same clinical clerkship group, therefore any submitted application must be cancelled in order to register again. Students who are unable to cancel their clinical clerkship application on Studenti Online may email Ufficio Servizi agli studenti (see contact details on this page).
